We collect private information from users of this site, if they wish to participate in some of the activities available.

What information do you collect?

e-mail addresses are collected when competitions are entered, when reviews and jokes are submitted and when users contact The Disability Hub. Furthermore, if using the forum an account will need to be set up, which will require e-mail information and a username. The forum, comment box and review section may contain information on users' personal interests. There is also the option to leave your name if you wish when making a submission to the site, otherwise you will be identified as anonymous. This information will be collected directly from users when they fill in a form.

How is the information used?

e-mail addresses will be used to inform contestants of competitions if they have been successful, to get back to users if they have contacted The Disability Hub and to notify users if their submissions such as jokes are going to be posted to the web site. Information that users submit is likely to be made publically available such as jokes and reviews. Names will be used if users wish for it to be displayed next to a joke , comment or review submission. If posting in the forum a member's username will be displayed with their post. E-mail and username information will also allow us to moderate the forum.

Do you disclose any private information to any third parties?

Cookies are stored on your computer's hard drive. They are used on this site to identify things such as text size adjustments (this means once you adjust the text size it will remember your setting) and whether you have already voted in a poll (prevents multiple voting).

We only disclose information from children that is necessary to participate in the activities available on this site. As a parent you can review the child's information, request that it is deleted and if you wish you can refuse to allow any future collection or use of your child's information, by contacting us. How is consent provided?

When a user attempts to access some areas on the site that require the collection and use of private information they will be required to enter their age. If under 13, they will then be asked to get parental permission. An e-mail address will be needed so that we can contact you. There is a warning next to all areas that require the collection of personal data, directing users to this page.
